KEY CANCER GROUP NEAR WORLD TRADE CENTER
The ASSOCIATION OF CANCER ONLINE RESOURCES –
ACOR- is one of the most popular internet organizations in the cancer world with
70,211 patients and caregivers subscribing to 100 cancer-specific email groups.
Last week ACOR delivered 1,897,386 individual emails across the globe. However,
ACOR experienced service outages after September 11th as the network in the New
York City area was stressed. NBC interviewed Gilles Frydman, the founder and
funder of ACOR because Gilles and his family live just a few blocks south of the
World Trade Center and were unable to visit their home for days. Gilles, who is
the husband of a breast cancer survivor, runs ACOR single-handedly without pay.
To Gilles and the many other volunteers operating ACOR, we wish you the best.
