TRAVEL ASSISTANCE FOR CANCER PATIENTS
If you need to travel for cancer care, but can't
afford it, then you will want to know about these nonprofit organizations that
helped thousands of patients last year. Patient Travel arranges no-cost,
long-distance air transportation for patients needing just one trip or multiple
round trips. The organization works with 4,000 volunteer pilots who transported
6,500 patients last year. In addition, no-cost transportation is provided by
corporate jets and commercial airline programs. For more info, see
www.PatientTravel.org.
If you need housing during your travel, and can't
afford it, then check out Hospital Hospitality Guest Houses for assistance to
patients and families. Contact the National Association of Hospital Hospitality
Houses for their helpline and directory. See www.nahhh.org.
