JUNE IS MEN'S HEALTH MONTH ON CANCERPAGE

This year, an estimated 643,000 American men and boys will be diagnosed with cancer; the majority will beat the disease. Men have a higher incidence than women of other cancers such as lung, liver, bladder and kidney cancer and men need to know the sometimes subtle symptoms and get regular screenings, because these cancers can be found early. For more about the signs and symptoms, see our special section.

TRIAL MATCHING SERVICE REACHES 500 MATCHES

Last week, we celebrated a milestone when our TrialMatch program -for the 500th time- found a trial for a patient visiting our TrialMatch.com. The web site helps patients find clinical trials based on their medical condition and the researcher's technical requirements. When patients answer a series of questions, the program matches a patient with relevant clinical trials. TrialMatch is more than just a list of trials; it is a way of finding the right trial for a patient.

To protect patient privacy, we do not store information about individuals who find trials through this service, so we do not know whether patients benefited from trials they did find. We'd like to know! If you found a trial on TrialMatch.com and enrolled in the study, let us know. We all like to hear good news. Just send a note to editor@cancerpage.matria.com. Thanks!
